Agile Software Inc provides custom software development using the latest Microsoft technologies. We handle the complete range of the software development life cycle -- from gathering requirements, through design, project management, development, deployment, training, and maintenance.

We have expertise with C# and the .NET platform, SQL Server, SQL Reporting, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Web Services, and ASP.NET Development.

In addition, we have particular expertise with development of Microsoft Silverlight, mobile applications and with telephony.

Silverlight
Agile Software is proud to be a Microsoft Silverlight Partner
Microsoft Silverlight is the latest technology for web development, enabling creation of Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) incorporating video and imaging. It is very attractive to experienced .NET developers because it allows them to leverage their existing expertise.

We recently developed a website for a breeder of purebred cats completely in Silverlight. Using Silverlight allowed us to create a website that is very attractive, and handles both images and videos of the breeder's animals. In addition, we developed a complete administration site, also in Silverlight, so that the breeder can keep their site fresh. Data is stored securely in a SQL Server database on the server.

Telephony
The Greeting Assistant
We recently implemented a desktop telephone application for a company that manages packaged offices. Using the called number, the application does a database look-up and displays information such as the company name, a standard greeting, and a list of extensions for the company's personnel. The telephone operators can update the database with special instructions, such as "Jane Doe is working from home until 2:00 pm today" This application has allowed the pacakged office telephone operators to answer each incoming call in a very personalized way.

This application is useful for any organization with a telephone switchboard that handles many different internal phone numbers -- it allows the operators to know who the incoming call is for, and therefore give both a personal greeting, and information as to the availability of the person being called.

Mobile
Mobile solutions are becoming more powerful and less expensive every day. But as they become within the reach of many more organizations, the challenges of securely passing data from the handheld or mobile unit to the organization's central databases becomes more pressing.

We recently developed a sales force automation application for a large medical supply company. The customer service reps used handheld devices to take customer orders, which were transmitted wirelessly to their central servers. We used a combination of SQL Compact databases on the handhelds, Web services for handling communication betweeen the mobile users and the central server, and Merge Replication to synchronize the data. In addition, we built an automatic updater for the handheld application, so that as the mobile application evolved, it could be easily deployed to the field users.

Our client found that by having their national sales reps send orders wirelessly, they were able to gain a competitive advantage by expediting order fulfillment, and spreading the warehouse work over a greater period in the day.

Five years ago, these applications would not have been feasible. Today, with the power of Microsoft's .NET Framework and Servers, new opportunities are waiting for innovative minds to exploit.

SQL Reporting
SQL Reporting came of age with the introduction of SQL Server 2005. SQL 2005 (& 2008) Reporting offers a powerful report engine, coupled with an ad-hoc Report Builder for end-users to create reports using data models generated by developers, thus sparing the end-users from the necessity of navigating relational databases to build their reports. In addition there is a web interface to your reports, available to anyone on your intranet. SQL Server's integration with the Common Language Runtime of the .NET framework means that reports can be generated from programmatically-manipulated data, thus vastly expanding the capabilities of the report engine. Reports can be exported to a variety of formats, including spreadsheets and .pdf files.

We recently used this technology to develop a suite of reports for a major broadcaster.

You may be missing out on important opportunities to increase productivity and customer satisfaction if you do not take advantage of emerging technologies. Let us help you. We will meet with you to review your business workflow and suggest technologies that are availabale right now that can add flexibility, responsiveness, and improved productivity to your organization. That's what agility is all about.
